Ingredients

  • Garlic: 1-2 cloves (Crushed).
  • Lemon: ½ Lemon (Sliced with peel).
  • Ginger: 1-inch piece of fresh Ginger (Sliced). Ginger aids digestion and adds a natural warming effect.
  • Liquid Base: 2 cups (500ml) of filtered water.
  • Sleep Enhancer: 1 bag of Chamomile Tea or ½ tsp of Ground Cinnamon.
  • Natural Sweetener: 1 tsp of Raw Honey.

Preparation Method

  1. Prep the Roots: Crush the garlic and slice the ginger. Let them sit for 10 minutes to release their active enzymes (Alicin in garlic and Gingerol in ginger).
  2. Simmer: Place the water, lemon slices, and ginger in a pot. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 8 minutes.
  3. Add Garlic: Add the crushed garlic during the last 2 minutes of simmering to preserve its potency without making the flavor too sharp.
  4. Steep: Remove from heat and add the chamomile tea bag or cinnamon. Cover and let it steep for 5 minutes.
  5. Serve: Strain into a mug. Add honey once the drink is at a drinkable temperature (below 140°F / 60°C) to keep the honey’s nutrients intact.
