Peach Cobbler with Cake Mix

  • Prep time: 10 minutes
  • Cook time: 40–55 minutes
  • Servings: 6–8

Ingredients

  • Peaches: 3 cans (15 oz each) sliced peaches in syrup.
  • Dry Base: 1 box (approx. 15 oz) yellow or vanilla cake mix.
  • Fat: 1/2 cup to 3/4 cup (1 to 1.5 sticks) unsalted butter, cold and thinly sliced.
  • Flavor Boosters (Optional): 1 tsp ground cinnamon and 1/2 cup brown sugar for extra caramelization.

Instructions

  1. Preheat & Prep: Heat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
  2. Layer the Fruit: Pour the cans of peaches (including the syrup) directly into the baking dish. If using cinnamon or cornstarch to thicken, stir them into the peaches now.
  3. Add the “Biscuit” Topping: Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the peaches. Tip: Do not stir the cake mix into the fruit; it should sit on top to create that specific crust seen in your photo.
