Crispy Cheese Breadsticks Recipe


Ingredients

  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese • 1 large egg • 1 tsp garlic powder • 1 tsp Italian seasoning or dried oregano • ½ tsp black pepper • 1 tbsp everything bagel seasoning, sesame seeds, or poppy seeds for topping • Optional: 2 tbsp almond flour or coconut flour for extra structure

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F / 200°C. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. 2. Mix the dough: In a bowl, combine mozzarella, cheddar, egg, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and black pepper. Add almond flour if using. Mix until it forms a sticky dough. 3. Shape: Divide the mixture into 4-6 equal portions. With slightly wet hands, roll each portion into a stick shape about 5 inches long. Place on the baking sheet. 4. Top it: Sprinkle everything bagel seasoning or sesame seeds over each stick and lightly press so it sticks. 5. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown and edges are crispy. For extra crispiness, broil for 1-2 minutes at the end but watch closely so they don’t burn. 6. Cool & serve: Let them cool for 3-5 minutes on the pan. They’ll crisp up more as they cool. Serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping.

  • Extra cheesy pull: Use low-moisture mozzarella so they hold shape better. • Keto version: This is already low-carb. The almond flour keeps it keto-friendly. • Make ahead: You can shape them and refrigerate for up to 24hrs before baking.
