Cheesy BBQ Beef & Bacon Stuffed Bread

Ingredients

  • Bread: 1 large loaf of French or Italian bread.
  • Protein: 1 lb (450g) Ground Beef (80/20 mix) and cooked bacon bits.
  • Sauce: BBQ Sauce and Creamy Avocado Lime Crema (the green sauce).
  • Cheese: Shredded Cheddar Cheese.
  • Seasoning: Salt, black pepper, and fresh parsley for garnish.
  • Side: Fresh garden salad.

Instructions

1. Prepare the Meat

  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked.
  • Drain any excess fat.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.

2. Mix the Filling

  • Add the BBQ sauce and half of the bacon bits to the skillet with the beef.
  • Stir in a portion of the avocado crema to make the filling extra creamy.
  • Mix well until everything is heated through and well-combined.

3. Prepare the Bread

  • Cut a long rectangle out of the top of the bread loaf, being careful not to cut through the bottom.
  • Hollow out the center to create a “boat” or deep pocket.

4. Assemble and Bake

  • Layer a generous amount of shredded cheddar cheese at the bottom of the bread.
  • Spoon the beef and bacon mixture into the bread until it is tightly packed.
  • Top with more cheddar cheese and the remaining bacon bits.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for about 10–15 minutes, or until the bread is toasted and the cheese is bubbly.

5. Finishing Touches

  • Remove from the oven and pipe or dollop the remaining avocado crema over the top.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley and extra BBQ sauce if desired.
  • Slice into thick pieces and serve warm with a side salad.
