Ingredients
1 cup (250ml) Base Oil: High-quality Extra Virgin Olive Oil is most common.
1 tbsp Black Peppercorns: Whole peppercorns (visible at the bottom of the bottle).
5-8 Dried Bay Leaves (Laurel): Often added for its aromatic properties.
Optional: Some versions add a few dried chili peppers (the red spots in the bottle) for a warming effect.
Instructions
Prepare the Spices: Lightly crush the peppercorns (don’t grind them into powder) just to release the essential oils.
Combine: Place the peppercorns and bay leaves into a clean, dry glass bottle.
Infuse: Pour the olive oil into the bottle until the ingredients are fully submerged.
Wait: Seal the bottle and store it in a cool, dark place for 10 to 14 days. Shake the bottle gently every day to help the infusion process.
Strain: After two weeks, you can strain the oil through a cheesecloth or keep the ingredients inside for aesthetic purposes.
How it is used (Traditionally)
Topical Application: This is primarily used as a massage oil.
The piperine in black pepper can create a warming sensation that may temporarily relieve minor joint or muscle stiffness.
Dietary: If used in food, it is simply a flavored finishing oil for salads or bread.
Important Safety Note
Warning: Please do not rely on this oil to treat serious medical issues.
If you are struggling with high uric acid (gout) or addiction, it is essential to consult a healthcare professional.
Also, perform a patch test on a small area of skin first to ensure the pepper oil doesn’t cause irritation or a rash.
