Slow Cooker French Dip Sandwiches

ingredients :

2–3 lb beef chuck roast
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 onion, thinly sliced
3–4 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups beef broth
1 packet onion soup mix
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon dried thyme
Salt & black pepper to taste
4–6 hoagie rolls or sandwich buns
Optional: provolone or Swiss cheese

instructions :

Sear the beef (optional but recommended)
Heat oil in a skillet and sear roast on all sides until browned.
Add to slow cooker
Place onions and garlic in the bottom, then add the roast.
Add liquids & seasoning
Pour in beef broth, onion soup mix, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper.
Cook
LOW: 7–8 hours
HIGH: 4–5 hours
Until beef is tender and shreds easily.
Shred the beef
Remove roast, shred with forks, and return to the juices.
Assemble sandwiches
Fill rolls with beef. Add cheese if using.
Optional toast
Broil sandwiches for 2–3 minutes until cheese melts.
Serve with au jus
Strain cooking liquid and serve on the side for dipping.
