My Polish aunt taught me this recipe, and itβs been a family favorite ever since! Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and absolutely delicious served with sour cream or applesauce.
Ingredients
4 large potatoes, peeled
1 small onion
1 egg
3 tablespoons flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Oil for frying
Instructions
Grate the potatoes and onion into a large bowl.
Place the mixture in a clean towel and squeeze out excess liquid.
Add the egg, flour, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
Scoop small portions into the pan and flatten slightly.
Fry for 3β4 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
Transfer to paper towels to remove extra oil.
Serving Ideas
Serve hot with sour cream
Try with applesauce for a traditional touch
Garnish with fresh herbs if desired
