Ingredients:
- 3 tbsp warm water (45 ml)
- 2 tsp active dry yeast (7 g)
- ¼ tsp sugar
- ¾ cup milk (180 ml)
- ¼ cup butter (60 g)
- ¼ cup sugar (50 g)
- 1 tsp salt (5 g)
- 1 large egg
- 3–3½ cups flour (360–420 g)
- Melted butter (optional)
Steps:
- Bloom yeast in warm water + ¼ tsp sugar (5–10 min).
- Warm milk + butter until almost melted.
- Mix sugar, salt, egg, milk, and yeast mix.
- Add 2 cups flour, stir smooth. Gradually add more. Rest 5 min.
- Knead 5 min until smooth. Rise 45–60 min.
- Punch down, divide into 18 balls.
- Place on greased sheet. Rise 30–45 min.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10–13 min.
- Brush with butter if desired.
