This 3-ingredient pie is incredibly creamy, light, and perfect for hot days. It takes only minutes to prepare!
Ingredients
- Strawberry Jello: 1 box (6 oz or 170g)
- Boiling water: ⅔ cup
- Ice cubes: 1 cup
- Cool Whip: 1 tub (8 oz), thawed (or any whipped topping)
- Graham Cracker Crust: 1 ready-made (9-inch) crust
- Optional Garnish: Fresh strawberries, whipped cream, or a maraschino cherry.
Instructions
- Dissolve the Jello: In a large bowl, stir the strawberry Jello powder into the boiling water. Stir for about 2 minutes until the powder is completely dissolved.
- Thicken with Ice: Add the ice cubes to the hot Jello mixture. Stir constantly for 2–3 minutes until the Jello thickens slightly and the ice has mostly melted. Remove any large unmelted ice chunks.
- Combine with Cool Whip: Gently fold in the thawed Cool Whip (whipped topping) using a whisk or spatula. Mix until the color is a uniform light pink and there are no white streaks.
- Fill the Crust: Pour the creamy mixture into the ready-made graham cracker crust. Smooth the top with a spoon or spatula.
- Chill: Refrigerate the pie for at least 4 hours (or overnight) until it is firm and set.
- Serve: Slice and serve chilled. Top with extra whipped cream or fresh strawberries if desired.
Pro-Tips
- Change the Flavor: You can use this same method with any flavor of Jello (lime, orange, or raspberry).
- Clean Slices: To get perfectly clean slices, dip your knife in warm water and wipe it dry between each cut.
