(Better than Bush’s Baked Beans)
Ingredients:
- 4 pounds navy beans, rinsed and sorted
- 2 quarts tomato juice
- 1 quart tomato sauce
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
Quick Instructions (General Method):
- Prep the Beans: Soak the navy beans overnight, then drain and rinse.
- Combine: In a large pot, mix the tomato juice, tomato sauce, chopped onions, brown sugar, molasses, and apple cider vinegar.
- Simmer: Add the beans to the sauce mixture and simmer until the beans are tender and the sauce has thickened.
- Canning: If you are canning them (as the title suggests), follow standard pressure canning procedures for beans to ensure they are shelf-stable.
