The perfect topping for burgers and hot dogs)

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups Finely chopped bell peppers (red, yellow, and green)
  • 1 ½ cups Finely chopped white or yellow onions
  • 1 cup Apple cider vinegar (or white vinegar)
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp Mustard seeds (as seen in the jar)
  • 1 tsp Celery seeds
  • ½ tsp Turmeric (for color)
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • Optional: A pinch of red pepper flakes for a little heat.

Instructions:

  1. Prepare Vegetables: Finely chop the peppers and onions. If you want a smoother texture, you can pulse them in a food processor, but keep some “crunch.”
  2. Combine: In a large saucepan, combine the vinegar, sugar, salt, mustard seeds, celery seeds, and turmeric. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Simmer: Add the chopped peppers and onions to the liquid. Reduce heat and simmer for about 15–20 minutes until the mixture thickens and the vegetables are tender.
  4. Cool & Store: Let it cool down and transfer it to glass jars. It tastes even better after chilling in the refrigerator for 24 hours.
