Vegetables: 3-4 medium potatoes (peeled and cubed), 1 cup chopped green beans, 2 medium tomatoes (diced), and 1 large onion (finely chopped).
The Sauce: 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce, 1 cup beef or chicken broth, 2 tbsp vegetable oil.
Seasoning: 1 tsp salt, ½ tsp black pepper, 1 tsp allspice (or 7-spice blend), and ½ tsp paprika.
Instructions
Sauté the Beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, sauté the chopped onion in oil until translucent. Add the ground beef and cook until browned. Drain any excess fat if necessary.
Season: Stir in the salt, black pepper, allspice, and paprika.
Combine: Add the green beans and diced tomatoes to the beef mixture. Let them simmer together for about 5 minutes to meld the flavors.
Assemble: In a glass baking dish (like the one in the video), spread the raw potato cubes evenly. Pour the beef and vegetable mixture over the potatoes.
Add Liquid: Mix the tomato sauce with the broth and pour it over the entire dish until the potatoes are mostly submerged.
Bake: Cover the dish with foil. Bake in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for 40–50 minutes, or until the potatoes are fork-tender.
Brown: Remove the foil for the last 10 minutes to get that nice roasted color on top.
