Ingredients:
- 2 slices of Thick-cut bread (Sourdough or Brioche works best)
- 2 slices of Sharp Cheddar cheese
- 2 slices of Gruyère or Mozzarella (for that epic cheese stretch)
- 1 tbsp Butter (or the secret Mayonnaise trick!)
- A pinch of Garlic powder (optional, for a kick)
Instructions:
- Prep the Bread: Spread a thin, even layer of butter (or mayo) on one side of each bread slice. This will be the side that touches the pan.
- Heat the Pan: Place a non-stick skillet over medium-low heat. You want it hot enough to toast the bread but slow enough to melt the cheese completely without burning the crust.
- Assemble: Place one slice of bread in the pan, buttered-side down. Pile on your cheese blend. Top with the second slice of bread, buttered-side up.
- The Slow Sear: Grill for about 3-4 minutes until the bottom is deep golden brown.
- The Flip: Carefully flip the sandwich. Cover the pan with a lid for about 1 minute—this creates a little steam that ensures the cheese is 100% molten.
- Finish: Grill the second side for another 2-3 minutes until crispy.
- Serve: Slice diagonally and enjoy that cheese pull immediately!
