Blueberry & Cream Overnight Oats

Ingredients

  • The Base:
    • 1/2 cup Rolled oats (Old-fashioned oats work best).
    • 1/2 cup Milk of choice (dairy, almond, or oat milk).
    • 1/4 cup Greek yogurt (plain or vanilla).
    • 1 tsp Chia seeds (optional, for thickness).
    • 1 tsp Honey or maple syrup.
  • The Toppings:
    • 1/2 cup Fresh blueberries.
    • 1-2 tbsp Blueberry jam or a quick blueberry compote (mashed blueberries with a splash of lemon).
    • An extra dollop of Greek yogurt for the “cream” layer on top.

Instructions

  1. Mix the Base: In a glass container (like the one in your photo), combine the oats, milk, 1/4 cup yogurt, chia seeds, and your sweetener of choice. Stir well until there are no dry clumps of oats.
  2. Layering: Smooth the top of the mixture with a spoon. Add a fresh layer of Greek yogurt over the oats to create that white creamy middle layer.
  3. Add the Fruit: Spoon the blueberry jam or compote over the yogurt layer, then pile on the fresh blueberries.
  4. The Overnight Soak: Cover the container with a lid or plastic wrap. Place it in the refrigerator for at least 6 hours, but preferably overnight. This allows the oats to soak up the liquid and become soft and creamy.
  5. Serve: In the morning, grab your spoon and enjoy! You can eat it cold straight from the fridge or let it sit at room temperature for a few minutes.

Variations

  • Extra Crunch: Add a sprinkle of granola or sliced almonds right before eating.
  • Protein Boost: Stir in a scoop of vanilla protein powder during step 1.
  • Lemon Twist: Add a little lemon zest to the oat mixture for a “Blueberry Lemonade” flavor.
