Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tbsp sugar
1 tsp instant yeast
½ tsp salt
1 egg
2 tbsp butter (soft)
¾ cup warm milk
1–2 tbsp oil (for cooking)
Steps
- Activate yeast
Mix warm milk + sugar + yeast
Let sit 5–10 mins until foamy
- Make dough
In a bowl, add flour + salt
Add egg + yeast mixture + butter
Knead until soft, smooth dough (8–10 mins)
- First rise
Cover and rest for 1 hour until doubled
- Shape
Divide into small balls
Flatten slightly into thick discs
- Second rest
Cover and rest 10–15 mins
- Cook (no oven)
Heat pan on very low flame
Add a little oil or butter
Place buns, cover with lid
Cook 5–7 mins until golden
- Flip & cook
Flip and cook other side
Cover again to cook inside evenly
