Seasoning: 1 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp black pepper, 1 tsp onion powder, and a dash of Worcestershire sauce.
Instructions
Preheat & Prep: Preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F). Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
Brown the Meat: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef (or steak) until browned. Drain any excess fat. Stir in the garlic and Worcestershire sauce, then season with salt, pepper, and onion powder. Transfer the meat to the bottom of the baking dish.
Sauté the Veggies: In the same skillet, add a little oil or butter. Sauté the sliced onions, bell peppers, and mushrooms for about 5–7 minutes until they are tender-crisp.
Assemble: Layer the sautéed vegetables evenly over the meat in the baking dish.
Add Cheese: Place the slices of Provolone cheese (or a thick layer of shredded cheese) across the top, covering the vegetables entirely.
Bake: Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and slightly golden brown on the edges.
Serving Ideas
Low Carb: Serve as is or over cauliflower rice.
Classic: Scoop the mixture into toasted hoagie rolls or baguettes.
Fresh Finish: Top with a bit of fresh chopped parsley or a drizzle of spicy mayo.
