Cheese Crust Breakfast Pizza
Ingredients:
For the Cheese Crust:
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 large eggs
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
For the Topping:
- 4 large eggs
- ½ cup cooked breakfast sausage, crumbled
- ½ cup bell peppers, diced
- ¼ cup red onion, diced
- ½ cup shredded cheddar or mozzarella (extra)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Optional garnish: fresh parsley, red pepper flakes Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet or pizza pan with parchment paper.
Make the Cheese Crust:
- In a bowl, combine mozzarella, cheddar, eggs, garlic powder, onion powder, and pepper.
- Spread mixture into an even 10–12 inch circle on the prepared pan.
- Bake for 8–10 minutes until edges are golden and slightly crispy.
Prepare Toppings:
- In a skillet, cook breakfast sausage until browned and crumbly; drain excess fat.
- Lightly sauté peppers and onion for 2–3 minutes if you prefer softer veggies.
Add Eggs On Top:
- Remove crust from oven. Gently crack 4 eggs on top (space them out).
- Sprinkle sausage, peppers, onion, and extra cheese evenly over the crust.
- Season with salt and pepper.
Bake Again:
- Return to oven and bake for 8–10 minutes, until egg whites are set but yolks are still slightly runny (or longer if you prefer fully cooked yolks).
Garnish and Serve:
- Sprinkle with parsley, red pepper flakes, or extra cheese if desired.
- Slice into 8 pieces and enjoy warm!
