Ingredients
For the Brownies
1 cup (225 g) unsalted butter, melted
2 cups (400 g) granulated sugar
4 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup (120 g) all-purpose flour
1 cup (90 g) unsweetened cocoa powder
½ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
For the Chocolate Glaze
1 cup (180 g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
½ cup (120 ml) heavy cream
2 tablespoons butter
For Topping
1 cup pecan halves
¼ cup chopped pecans
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Pan
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
Step 2: Make the Brownie Batter
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter and sugar until smooth.
Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
In a separate bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix just until combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the brownies soft and fudgy.
The batter will be thick and rich.
Step 3: Bake
Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan.
Bake for 28–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs attached.
Do not overbake, as brownies continue to set while cooling.
Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for about 20 minutes.
Step 4: Prepare the Chocolate Glaze
Place the chocolate chips in a heatproof bowl.
Heat the heavy cream and butter in a small saucepan until it just begins to simmer.
Pour the hot cream mixture over the chocolate chips and let sit for 2 minutes.
Whisk until smooth, glossy, and completely melted.
Step 5: Decorate
Pour the chocolate glaze over the cooled brownies.
Use a spatula to spread it evenly across the surface.
Arrange pecan halves on top and sprinkle with chopped pecans for extra crunch and a beautiful presentation.
Step 6: Chill and Slice
Let the glaze set at room temperature for 30 minutes, or refrigerate for about 20 minutes for faster results.
Using a sharp knife, cut into squares or rectangles like in the photo.
For clean cuts, wipe the knife between slices.
Tips for Perfect Brownies
Use high-quality cocoa powder for a deeper chocolate flavor.
Slightly underbake the brownies for an ultra-fudgy texture.
Toast the pecans for 5 minutes before using to enhance their nutty flavor.
Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
These brownies taste even better the next day as the flavors develop.
