Fluffy Milk Bread Rolls

Ingredients

For the Dough:

3 cups All-purpose flour (or bread flour for a chewier texture).

1/4 cup Granulated sugar.

1 tbsp Instant yeast.

1 tsp Salt.

1 Large egg.

1/2 cup Warm milk.

1/4 cup Unsalted butter (softened at room temperature).

For the Shiny Topping:

Egg Wash: 1 egg beaten with

1 tbsp of milk.

Finish:

1 tbsp Melted butter (to brush after baking).

Instructions

Combine Ingredients:

In a large mixing bowl (or stand mixer), whisk together the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Add the warm milk and the egg.

Knead: Mix until a shaggy dough forms, then add the softened butter. Knead for about 10 minutes until the dough is smooth, elastic, and tacky but not sticky.

First Proof: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm spot for 1 hour or until it doubles in size.

Shape: Punch the dough down. Divide it into equal portions (about 12–15 balls). To make the shapes from the picture: Add two tiny balls on top for “ears” or use scissors to snip the top of the dough for a “flower” look.

Second Proof: Arrange the balls in a greased baking pan. Cover and let them rise for another 30–45 minutes until they are puffy and touching.Bake: Preheat your oven to 180°C. Lightly brush the tops with the egg wash. Bake for 20–25 minutes until they reach a deep golden brown color.

The Secret Glaze: Immediately after taking them out of the oven, brush the tops with melted butter.
