Ingredients
For the Pound Cake:
3 cups all-purpose flour
3 cups granulated sugar
1 cup unsalted butter,
softened6 large eggs,
room temperature
1 cup whole milk
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon almond extract (optional but amazing)
1 teaspoon baking powder
Β½ teaspoon salt
For the Glaze:
1Β½ cups powdered sugar
3β4 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon melted butter
Instructions
Preheat oven to 325Β°F (165Β°C). Grease and flour a 10-inch Bundt or tube pan.
Cream butter & sugarBeat butter and sugar until light and fluffy (about 3β4 minutes).
Add eggsAdd eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.
Mix dry ingredientsWhisk flour, baking powder, and salt together.Alternate milk & flourAdd flour mixture and milk alternately to batter, beginning and ending with flour.
Add flavoringsMix in vanilla and almond extract.
BakePour batter into pan and bake for 1 hour 15β25 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
CoolLet cake cool in pan 15 minutes, then turn out onto a rack.
